Healing Hands Workshops: Pottery for Wellness At FLO Studio, we believe in the power of creativity to heal and restore balance. Our Healing Hands workshops combine the art of pottery with mindfulness and stress-relief techniques, guided by Alyx’s background in Neuroscience and healthcare. This workshop is designed to foster a therapeutic space where participants can unwind, reconnect with themselves, and explore the creative process through hand-building pottery. What to Expect The session begins with a brief introduction to hand-building techniques, project inspiration, and important safety tips. We’ll dive right into the basics of pottery: wedging, coiling, and most importantly—creating. Students will have the opportunity to personalize their pieces by choosing a glaze that speaks to them, before wrapping up with a relaxing Fika break featuring tea, coffee, and cake. Throughout the session, instrumental music will set a calming tone, and students are encouraged to listen to their own music if it enhances their creative flow. Healing with Creativity Drawing from Alyx’s extensive career in Neuroscience research, Healing Hands serves as a bridge toward a neurorehabilitation center focused on holistic therapeutic interventions for neurological conditions. The goal is to integrate stress management and creative expression into daily life, promoting wellness and inner peace. Workshop Details Class Size: Maximum 15 students per 1.5-hour session (unless an aide is present) Materials Fee: $35 per 25lb bag of clay (enough for approx. 2-3 pieces) Instructor Fee: Based on class size (contact for details) Completed Pieces: Ready for pickup or delivery within 2-4 weeks Accessibility We believe in making the creative process accessible to everyone.
